Message: <blockquote data-quote="Ovinomancer" data-source="post: 1412153" data-attributes="member: 16814">Right, right, keep your pants on...  Sorry it took me a whole 24 hours to post resolution.   <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" /> My character and cohort ended up gaining an audience with the head priest of the temple in question.  He said that he was aware of why we had stolen the book, and wasn't going to persue us for the theft, but also wasn't going to extend us any favors.  My character offered to provide restitution, and was told that he must repay the value of a scroll 'stolen' (actually provided by a member of the temple who was assisting us during the theft; hate to think what happened to him) during the theft.  We had had a comrade fall during the theft, and used the provided scroll, one of resurrection, to raise him for the getaway.  I then had to pay a fee equal to the cost of the scroll, and provide a donation!  For this, my cohort would be allowed access, but I was forever banned from entry.  For those curious, the total restitution amount totalled 25,000gp. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f641.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":(" title="Frown    :("  data-smilie="3"data-shortname=":(" /> On a related note, I would like to thank my GM, one Shallown on these boards, for truly living up to the code of RBDM's.  This whole situation arose because I decided that my cohort might have a small crisis of faith when he learned that the foundation his faith was built upon was not completely true.  So I worked out this ceremony involving expensive oils, incense, focuses, etc that would allow my cohort to contact his god and reaffirm his faith.  Cost about 5000gp and a week of prayer/fasting to accomplish.  During the seance, my cohort asked if there were any service that he could perform for his diety, and was told 'Find my Eye.'  This led to the research that required entry to the above mentioned temple.  And the additional 25,000gp fee.  So I ended up costing myself 30,000gp and 3 weeks of research just because I decided to RP.  I'd do it again, but, heck, that's harsh.  Good job, Shallown, you truly deserve to be on the RBDM list. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":D" title="Big grin    :D"  data-smilie="8"data-shortname=":D" />Edit for spelling</blockquote>
