As I am quite entranced by the Broken Tales, here are a few details you may find useful. 1. The game uses MONAD ECHO system, of which SRD is available at DriveThruRPG 2. To have a good overview of the beautiful delivery of the book, get the quickstart: Quickstart Broken Tales PDF [English] 3. Broken Tales is a range of products nowadays, Products, and I would heartily recommend to all collectors getting at least Broken Tales - Core Book Bundle 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 and Lost Stories - Bundle 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 4. To get a good taste, please have a look at the playthrough of A Mother's Heart: The great thing about the setting that it embraces postmodernist tendencies and clashes them with the classics of the classics. Grimm tales, grim takes and adventuring special ops, with each antagonist offering a mystery of how their inverted self goes about things, and how to deal with them. The aspect I am not entirely sure I like, is that the system is one of the single-test-does-it variety. In my opinion, some investigations or showdowns fall short of expectations if there is no room for gradual maneuvering, slow attrition and temporary setbacks that can be addressed on a tactical level. To put it in simpler terms - you need to score a success, you can expend limited resources to boost your chances or to recover from an immediate failure, your chances are higher if descriptors of your character align with your action or your circumstances. It's not the system I would use here. Perverse as it sounds, I would find 5E more suitable, with its levels and special abilities. Or an OSR clone with some very unique and special legendary talents thrown in. Either way, this is an incredible game, with antagonists that can be imported into most high fantasy games.
