Their hair is either a dark green, blue-green, or yellow-green and their eyes are a glossy black. Bucca dress in clothes woven from seaweed, the females wearing gowns while the males wear robes.</p><p></p><p>Dwelling in large stretches of open sea, bucca rarely leave their territory. They also stay near the surface, living in the warm, sunlit waters of the ocean. While they keep a wary eye on any ships that cross into their territory, they will leave the ships alone unless the ship or crew does something to anger the bucca. Buccas disapprove of wanton violence and anyone who engages in combat while in a bucca’s sea will be driven off. </p><p></p><p>If a ship seems to be in trouble while in a bucca’s territory the bucca will offer assistance to the beleaguered ship, though such help is not free. Tributes range from a share of a fisherman’s catch to a barrel of rum. Buccas will not except coins, or other useless valuables, which they have no use for.</p><p></p><p>Buccas speak Aquan, Common, and Sylvan.</p><p></p><p><strong>Combat</strong></p><p></p><p>Buccas dislike combat and will do their best to avoid it, fleeing rather than fighting if given the choice.</p><p></p><p><strong>Amphibious (Ex)</strong>: Although buccas are aquatic, they can survive indefinitely on land.</p><p></p><p><strong>Mist Form (Su)</strong>: As a standard action, a bucca can assume mist form at will. It can remain in mist form indefinitely and can fly at a speed of 40 feet (perfect). The ability is otherwise similar to a gaseous form spell (caster level 5th).</p><p></p><p><strong>Spells</strong>: A bucca casts divine spells as a 5th-level druid.</p><p>Typical Druid Spells Prepared (6/4/3/2, save DC 14 + spell level): 0—cure minor wounds, detect magic, guidance, know direction, resistance, virtue; 1st—cure light wounds, fairie fire, obscuring mist, summon nature‘s ally I; 2nd—cat‘s grace, gust of wind, lesser restoration; 3rd— call lightning, cure moderate wounds.</p><p></p><p><strong>Spell-Like Abilities</strong>: 1/day—Control Water. Caster level 10th.</p><p></p><p><strong>Skills</strong>: A bucca has a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. It can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered.
