I really liked this episode up until all of the stories came to conclusion. With the Giles angle, I was glad they finally confronted, the is he dead thing. I was really really hoping Giles was dead. His character has been one of my favorites, but they have done nothing with him in a long time and I thought how cool would it have been for him to lead all of the slayer potentials to the slaughter. Imagine the scene where the four powerless scoobies drive to the desert to find the mangled and cut up bodies of the girls and the first standing there mocking them. I liked the humor when they tackled him. The willow story was fun in the beginning, but by the end it was unwatchably bad. Bringing Amy back was a good ploy, but when she teleported the wanna-be slayer to Buffy's back yard and it was day time, I was wondering if everyone was some all powerful uber-witch. The acting and directing in the final Willow scene was so bad, I was laughing. The Buffy/Spike story line was desent and left Buffy with an interesting choice. The moster fight was pointless and uninteresting, but since it was really the only fight, I guess Joss felt the story needed it. Overall, despite all of the tension in the episode, I also felt it was one of the weaker ones this season. I am not sure what to think about next weeks.
