I posted a modified form of this on the Scoopme! boards yesterday... I called "Bull" on all three visitations... I have to take my stance here with all those who called all three of the plotlines as being initiated by the first evil - Dawn's visitation by Ma Summers, Spike's rampant siring, and the obvious Cassie/Willow visitation. I might be surprised, but I think that a great deal of planning went into trying to divide and conquer the major heroes here - I wouldn't be surprised if in a near future episode we find Xander also had a "creepy" experience and distrusts one of the others (say, Buffy) as a result. To me, (and this is just me), Dawn won her exorcism a little TOO easily - are we to believe she is as powerful a witch as tara or Willow, after only a short while? It seemed to be all to convince her that the person angelically appearing before her was her mom, because she had to struggle to "win" it. Give us what we want with no strongs, and we look the gift horse in the mouth; but if we have to FIGHT for it... Same with the other two. The only thing is, the First Evil (if this is what it is) vastly underestimated Willow, and admitted as such - "Funny, but you seemed like the type." (The line about the Indigo Girls playing cracked me up!) This was the screw-up that will be its undoing - or was it yet another plot? :-) Finally, Buffy actually needed the psych session, which I enjoyed seeing - it is true, sometimes, a stranger with a willing ear can help you get a better viewpoint on your own life, rather than someone personally involved in you. Will Buffy take her newfound knowledge to heart? I hope so - sounds like she made some real headway. The scenes with Spike - now THAT set off a few Roman candles! My mind is frankly racing with far too much stuff right now, and not enough info. Darn you, Joss, I'm glued slavishly to my TV set Tuesday nights!
