Building a "Moon" Cleric.. wanna help?

Hey folks,

I get the chance to play a one-off session with a newbie DM soon, gonna help her "break into the business" and all that. The characters are all 3rd level and it's really just for one session.

Here is the theme of my character so far: A cleric of the moon - one who is "spaced out" in a new-age astrological, hippy kind of way, with a bit of "The Dude" from the Big Lebowski thrown in as well.

As far as crunch goes, all I have is this: 3rd level cleric, human male with an extra feat because I took the "inattentive" flaw from Unearthed Arcana - it puts a -4 on Spot and Listen checks, which I wanted because I figure his 18 Wisdom is all introspective and other mental attributes and that he's rather unfocused on what is physically around him.

Other than that, I am open to all suggestions - I am the party cleric but I think I'm going to focus on boost spells and let spontaneous curing handle the medic part. In particular I am looking for feats and domains.

What do you think?

Grab a wand of Cure Light Wounds -- or better yet, have everyone chip in 200 GP towards one -- and forget about healing forever. Even a few scrolls will do it.

For "CoDzilla" all you need is Power Attack plus a big two handed weapon (great sword is best). Self-buff with Divine Favor and Bull's Strength (Bless if you feel generous) and you're good to go.

At low levels the Cleric Archer is also viable. Go with an Elf with the Elf domain (on the WOTC website), PBS, Precise Shot, and Rapid Shot. Key buff is Divine Favor. If elf isn't an option, you can use the war domain or waste a feat on MWP -- its only a one off, so it doesn't have to be super optimized.

While you're at it, Lesser Vigor is more effective. But we're not only talking math here, aren't we?

First off, the base question for ANY cleric: who's your deity? What will be your cleric's alignment? From what you describe, Chaotic Good would be an option, thus restricting your choice of deities to CN, CG or NG.

Second, what path do you intend your cleric to take? What PrC/multiclassing do you aim at? Do you know how high will the campaign approx. take your character?

Third, technical part: what are your stats? What books to you have access to? How many starting gold do you get?

You did say you were the party cleric right?

Standard pantheon - Oldammara "delights in wine, women and song"

Domains: Chaos, Luck and Trickery

Olympian Pantheon - Dionysus "Mirth, madness, wine, fertility"

Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Madness

Now if you wanted to be more cerebral (and no deity):

SC domains: Community, Creation, Mysticism, Oracle

SC also has Moon domain

PHB domains: Knowledge

Chaos might still fit too
