Whats your opinions on having a Unique Dragon Construction toolkit for d20Modern....in stead of just having the different dragon races...just have one race and a variety of options to build the dragon with...it would be for GM's of course...and contain sample dragons as well.

er...yes...building on the wonderful insight from Crothian...

What kind of tools would it include? how would U "customize" a dragon? what kinds of things would U have control over?

The way I see dragons in a modern setting is more like NPCs than just another creature from a monster book. So I feel that each dragon should be an Individual as opposed to a type.

There will be 2 Base Dragon races:
  • Mundane: These will be non-magic dragons that are native to earth and lean more towards physical power. (example: the dragons from Reign of Fire)
  • Mythic: These will be the typical fantasy dragons that come from shadow and lean towards the mental/magical side of power. (example: DnD Dragons)

Each of these races would have an age progression and the base abilities/stats for the dragons at each age.

Customization will include Draconic feats and Draconic Advanced classes that will allow you to customize the base dragon by giving it special abilites and such.

Example...

Lamorauth could be an adult mythic dragon that has a cone of fire breathe weapon, has limited spellcasting ability (via a draconic class), and has Cold Resistance 10 (via a draconic feat)..

This is all still in the brainstorming stages....so this is just an idea i'm kicking around right now.
