Bullwugs

I am looking for v3.5 Bullywugs but they don't appear in any of my 3.5 monster books. Anyone know which book they can be found in? If they haven't officially been updated to the current edition do any of you have a homebrewed version that you would be willing to post?

They are appear (in 3.0 ed format) in Monsters of Faerun, a rather good little monster book IMO. I can't say that I remember seeing them updated to 3.5 though.

Bullywugs were released for 3.0 in Monster Compendium: Monsters of Faerûn. MoF received its update to 3.5 in the form of a web enhancement for Player's Guide to Faerûn, which can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20040313a

Additionally, there was a Bullywug Thug miniature released in the Deathknell D&D Miniatures Expansion, so you can probably use the stats that appeared on the card. Deathknell cards (RPG side) can be downloaded here: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/DDM_06DK_RPG.zip

It might just be my imagination, but I would swear that they had some kind of leap attack in their original form. Anyone remember anything like that? I wonder why they got rid of it? Or I wonder what other monster I am thinking of?

in the dwellers of the forbidden city it mentions that the bullywugs in the stockade get a +1 to hit and do double damage with a hopping attack.

The MoF version sucks.

I been using this one:

Bullywugs (aka ‘Wugs’)

Size/Type: Medium Humanoid
Hit Dice: 1d8+3 (8 hp)
Initiative: +1
Speed: 20 ft. (4 squares); swim 30 ft. (6 squares)
Armor Class: 14 (+1 Dex, +3 natural), touch 11, flat-footed 13
Base Attack/Grapple: +1/+2; Attack: By weapon type (usually spear)
Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft.
Special Attacks: Hop Attack
Special Qualities: Camouflage, Marsh Move
Saves: Fort +4, Ref +1, Will -2
Abilities: Str 10, Dex 13, Con 16, Int 7, Wis 7, Cha 7
Skills: Hide +1, Jump +6*, Listen –2, Spot -2
Feats: Weapon Focus (spear)
Environment: Temperate, Tropical and Sub-tropical swamps
Organization: Gang (4-9)
Treasure: Standard
Alignment: Usually neutral evil
Advancement: By character class (mostly warriors, occasional fighter or ranger, arcane spell-casters are unknown among their kind)

* Bullywugs gain a +6 racial bonus to jump checks and their powerful rear legs allow them to making standing jumps as if having had a 20’ running start. Bullywug’s awkward legs do not allow for them to make running jumps of any more success.

Hop Attack: Bullywugs can make a hopping charge attack using a melee weapon, gaining the normal +2 to attack roll and suffering –2 to AC. A successful hit with such an attack does double damage. This attack requires at least 10 feet of room and ceiling clearance equal to one-half the length of the jump.

Camouflage: Bullywugs who take a full round action unobserved can change the pigmentation of their skin to blend with surrounding common to their native environment. They gain a +8 to hide checks.

Marsh Move: Bullywugs suffer no movement penalties for moving through marshes or mud.

Where did that version come from? I've been frustrated that several iconic (IMO) monsters got shuttled off to MoF, which is, of course, now out of print.

It is my own conversion.

Very true.

I think el-remmen has a pretty good conversion though, eh?

[He better ... his avatar IS a bullywug strumming a guitar thingee after all. :D]
