Busting Rocks - Stone Age Science Fiction/Fantasy RPG - hit points/tribesmen

I would like commentary on two posts I will summarize here.
I have one on hit points, in which characters start with 6 and progress upward by 1 and then 3 (or 6). I am trying to make a game where most characters want to (or should want to) avoid potentially lethal conflict. Do you think I am being too parsimonious with hit points?
I have another on tribesmen. I am striving to be concise, so I mainly give examples on how they can gain experience. What else should I include?
