I realized this morning that, while I've posted plenty of maps here, I've never put up any of my other art. Not like I'm a pro or anything - I don't expect anyone to come beating down my doors asking me to work for 'em! - but I thought I'd put a few pieces up to share.
These are all scans straight from my sketchbook. I mostly use a Pitt Artist's brush pen for inking; sometimes, a Uniball Vision ballpoint, and sometimes both.
These first few are from my last sketchbook, which I just finished up a couple of weeks ago.
Anyone who's picked up The Graveyard Gang should recognize Straw and the Pumpkin Queen here. I didn't get around to illustrating them for the book, but with Halloween coming on I got to thinking about them again. The Queen was colored with watercolors.
I like how the Innsmouth guys turned out on this page. I drew the Frankenstein monster for my son; that's his favorite monster. He's colored with Prismacolor markers.
Often before I start running a game, I'll sketch up a few of the characters the players are going to meet. The evil old guy, Mr. Sweaty Fatman, and the Carl Sagan-y looking fellow were all NPC's. Earring McSoulpatch there was going to be one too, but they never ran into him.
Another one done for a game; this was for a playtest session of vs. Chainsaws, a grindhouse horror game based on Phil Reed's vs. Monsters that I've been working on on-and-off for awhile now. I might color it in Photoshop some time.
