I had buy.com mess up my shipping and billing adresses once, without informing me they'd done that until it was too late...

As I was at college at the time, it made getting that book quite an annoyance...

And they never admitted it had been their mistake, nor did they do anything to correct it (though it was within their power, as while the book had shipped- it hadn't actually arrived yet... so arguably, had they wanted to- they could have fixed it).

But yeah... that was awhile back, maybe they've improved.

I've had that before. They ship a book 4 days after I've canceled it. In their favor, I refused the book and got a refund processed without a problem.

Unless they have changed their shipping charges easily raised the final price above Amazon's price. Also lets not forget that if you purchase $25 or more from Amazon its free shipping.

I've ordered most of my books and a few other stuff from buy.com and never had a problem with them, so shrug. Also, buy.com also does the free shipping on orders $25+ with most books. Occasionally I can also find a better price at Overstock, even including the $1.40 S&H.
