I've never really considered using DragonMech, but any of the times I've toyed with the idea, I've found it would be pretty easy to come up with a MotU themed D&D setting as long as you don't mind it having a touch more of the wave 1 minicomics "Conan" feel and a touch less of the 80's/2002 cartoon's mixed magic and technology feel. (Honestly, if you're going to approach MotU you really need to mix and match the details from the 1980s line and the 2002-2004 line for best effects). There's a lot you can do with just WotC rules. Skeletor is obviously a lich. Trap-Jaw is a half iron golem. You can make Buzz-Off into the bee race from MM2. (It's a stretch but) Stratos can be an aaracroka. Of course, the hardest question is always: Is He-Man a fighter/barbarian or a fighter/paladin? Prince Adam would be a straight fighter, probably low to (at most) mid level, something like 5th levelish. The Sword of Power, when evoked, would add probably about ten levels of one or the other on top of what Adam (and if you're into the expanded universe, Adora) normally has. I've been inclined to avoid paladin because even though cartoon He-Man is a goody-goody doofus, he doesn't really lay on hands, turn undead, and summon Battle Cat from an extra-dimensional space. He runs, jumps, throws things, and punches stuff. Maybe the "Whirling Frenzy" variant ability would make more sense, replacing a somewhat out of character rage ability. Then again, if you interpret "rage" as a boost of adrenaline and not some kind of violent frenzy, it makes more sense. Sorry, I'm kind of a MotU dork :heh:
