Hrm, Usually Nick Cage seems to look like a guy with a narrow dopey face and thinning hair...nice how they managed to make him at once lookr younger and more menaceing

Nicholas Cage = Ghost Rider? Not sure if I like that or not... I like him as an actor, but I just have a hard time picturing him as Ghost Rider. Not that I can think of someone off the bat who would be better. :\

I'm fine with the casting. Nick has always been a huge comic book fan (and had a great Golden Age collection until his one-time significant other Lisa Marie Presley made him sell them). He has wanted to do a superhero film for a decade now. One huge advantage to his doing Ghost Rider is that the character is not that well known, so having an A-List actor in the role will help to build an audience. Another Marvel character that he's tossed his hat in the ring for is Prince Namor, who he would be visually good for.

I think now that he is doing Ghost Rider he wouldn't get that part. People would go see Namor and say "Isn't that the guy who played Ghost rider" Comic die hards would know the difference but the average kid might not make the connection.

I have no issues with the casting. Cage seems to be able to fit different roles rather well most times. I am looking forward to this movie, Ghost Rider is one of the few comics I read regularly as a kid.

I can only hope they don't overwhelm the film with too many special effects. The skull and flame may work well in comic books, but would be over-the-top on live-action film.
