In my very long running Greyhawk email campaign, the party are about to fight a major battle, to wrest control of a city back from a coup d'état. In checking out of their inn, they said this to the innkeeper: “We’re off to war. The Baron’s Keep has been seized by enemy forces, who have also kidnapped many of the leading townsfolk, including several clerics, Captain Ferren of the Town Guard, and probably the Baron himself."

“We’ve already destroyed two groups of wererats and monsters, but we have more work to do to save the town. We’ll be leading the Town Guards and Militia in battle, for as long as it takes to destroy the enemy, so you’ll want to keep your head down, and tell others to do the same. The Town Guards will be keeping the gates shut, and the fight won’t be over until tomorrow, I suspect."

“If you know of any adventurers or other volunteers willing to fight for Bissel, send them to the Temple of Pelor, and spread the word to the other inns. If anyone sees any monsters or other suspicious activity, they should report it to the Town Guards or the Temple of Pelor." I was going to ignore that (too complicated), but here's the crazy idea. If you have an old, retired PC that you liked to see have "one last fight" as NPC, it might be amusing to make them an NPC in my campaign. I'd just want a short summary of the character, no big deal thing, and I can't promise I'd even use them. Preferable characteristics: -- Level 1-5 (under 3.5e -- which we're playing, or something easily convertible, which for me is AD&D, 2e, 3e, or Pathfinder) -- PHB class, PHB race -- Developed in a Greyhawk campaign -- Ideally, from Bissel or with a good reason to be there Let's see if anybody thinks this is a good idea. Not sure I do!
