Campaign Trailer - My players stay out!

Markn

First Post
OK, so, first I would like to strongly recommend Obsidian Portal as a campaign management website. I signed up for an account there and set up my new campaign there called The World We Never Knew. I strongly recommend using it. It takes a bit to wrap your head around it but our group recently invested in ipads and we plan to make use of Obsidian Portal for "in game notes" and iplay4e for character sheet use.

And I made a movie trailer for my campaign, its my first ever video so I did the best I could and learned a lot along the way. Check it out. My players will get to see it tomorrow night at the campaign launch!

Note: Anyone who wants to follow along with the campaign will not be able to find it on Obsidian Portal's site. There is a bug currently and my campaign is not showing up publically, but anyone who wants to follow it in the future, send me PM and once the bug is fixed I will let you know.

Anyways, enjoy!

Edit: Please note that the Alex the Druid page is only temporary and will get updated once the character has a name and race! ;)

Oh thank god! "Alex the Druid" sooo broke the immersion.

It's a great trailer. The only constructive feedback I would offer is that sequence of slides before you introduce Fallcrest goes on a few second too long. By the time the frost giant slide appeared, I had gone from thinking "cool" to thinking "where are the next words"?

Wow, you've just inspired me to do this for my upcoming game. I'm gonna do some voice acting though, it'll be epic as all hell! Thanks for the idea!

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Is Bradek, "the leader of this mercenary company", really just "one hammer in one dwarf's hand"?

Ie. is Bradek an intelligent hammer, or is the wording slightly wonky?

Otherwise very cool. I like the voice over, and I don't know where the two of you are finding all these cool images and music...

It's actually sort of representative of the new thought process of the world, especially for a martial character like Bradek: you are your weapon. If you don't have your weapon, you are dead, or soon to be, and you are essentially useless without it. Bradek is not an ego weapon. :D

The art, I have a bunch saved, and I did digging online.

The music, the first part is just a song from Final Fantasy 6, and the rest is from the Conan soundtrack.

Old Grumphrey,

Very cool! I'd XP you, but I did that recently. I tried doing a voice over at first, using some voice morphing software, but I still sounded like crap...went the text route instead. Some of your pictures were really, really good - the one for Bane I really liked!

Colmarr,

Most of my images come from a googles image search. Not hard to find at all.

What program did you use to make the video? Ye olde Windows Movie Maker?

I second that. Please, anyone, can you let me know what program that is, or one that can do similar things? Especially the slow zoom-in or slow pan in pictures. Thanks!

I used a program called Adobe After Effects which is pretty expensive.

Edit: I wish I could be more help. I was inspired by what someone else did at Obsidian Portal, and he said it was done with After Effects. I was lucky in that I had the software, but had never used it. So I spent a few night teaching myself the basics and came up with this. This is basically my first video. I was thinking of doing a video for each tier.
