Hi, everyone! I've been watching 4e D&D slowly take shape and I like what I see. I'm really looking forward to playing and DMing D&D again. I wanted to like 3e, but all the bookeeping sucked the enjoyment right out of it for me. I want to thank all of you who created the PHP Lite, the modules, and the other preview materials. You've made it possible for people like me to run 4e preview games. Thank you so much ... you are appreciated. I'm looking forward to 4e so much that I'm going to organize a meetup group for it here in my area (Northwest Arkansas). We'll start getting together in May, run some 4e preview games, and get ready for the official release in June. If all goes well, we'll start putting together some Game Days and grow the 4e community here in the Fayetteville and Springdale area. I'd love to have a nice logo to use so that our promotional materials look professional, but this is just a hobby for me ... I can't sink a ton of money into a professionally designed logo. The promotional materials will be expensive enough. I'm sure there will be a lot of other 4e meetup groups in the same boat, so I started thinking: "Hey, could we get some good-hearted graphic design whiz in the community to create a 4th edition Dungeons & Dragons logo that anyone starting a meetup group could use for their promotional materials?" So here's what I'm thinking we'd need to do this right: (1) A logo that shares enough design elements with the official 4e logo that people seeing it from afar think "hey, that's got something to do with 4e D&D". (2) A crisp and clean logo that looks great on any background. (3) The logo could easily be branded by anyone with a basic image editing program. We could provide instructions on how to add your area's name to the basic logo to customize it for your local meetup group. (4) A 300 dpi version of the logo that can be used on flyers, business cards, tabletop signs, and maybe even on t-shirts (not to sell for profit, just to help create a sense of identity within the community). We might be able to just use one large version of the image (sized for t-shirts) and provide instructions on how to reduce it in size using a basic image editing program. (5) A 72 dpi verion of the logo that can be used online. So what do you think about this project? Did I miss anything that would make this a good resource for the 4e community? Is there anyone out there with the graphic design skill who would like to help? Dath
