[QUOTE="JoeNotCharles, post: 4917419, member: 79945"] Mikara hears a voice at the edge of her hearing. Groggily, she climbs to her knees and crawls into the bushes, guided by the voice. As she does the pain in her head slowly recedes and her vision clears. She realizes she is miraculously unharmed from the fall - the only damage she took was from the alien invasion into her mind, which is already vanishing like a nightmare on waking. She begins to stagger to her feet... And suddenly she is flying through the air as Dextyr lets out a shout of triumph! His voice, magnified, swirls through the air like a mighty wind. Mikara tumbles through the air towards him and lands on the ground, rolling, behind the front lines. As the world rushes end over end below her she catches a glimpse of Tonk staggering lightly towards the woods as the wind pushes him like a sail, and of zombie hounds, gums drawn back from their horrible fangs, dissolving into dust in the face of the storm. One of the floating jellyfish is caught in the wind and tumbles end-over-end towards Blade - he is forced to duck and it swishes past his head and finally rights itself, hovering between him and Tristan. Finally the wind stops, leaving Mikara lying on her back next to the captive halfling, who is frantically (and unsuccessfully) trying to free himself from his bonds. The fell taint which still hovers near Mikara's tree gives out an eery keening wail as its prey disappears, and bobs vacantly in the air. Its mate, hovering between Blade and Tristan, reaches out in its direction with a pair of tendrils and gives an answering keen, and the floating blob swivels to face it. Descending to ground level, it rushes through the trees, branches whipping at it and oozing right through it, and barrels towards Tristan, who sidesteps its waving tendrils. Only two of the rotting dogs remain. Obeying their master's final command, they also converge on Blade and Tristan. One clamps its jaws around Tristan's leg, puncturing the flesh and leaving a sickly, throbbing wound. The other leaps towards Blade - and dissolves in a flash of light as it comes near. The final remaining fell taint halts its advance on Blade as it sees the dog's fate. Instead, it bobs and spins and settles towards the ground, drifting back away from him and towards the other avenger. As Tristan has his attention on the other attackers, it reaches out a tentacle and plunges it into his head from behind. His body stiffens and goes rigid as he feels the alien presence like a spike entering the base of his skull. [sblock=Status] Dextyr stands and uses Majestic Word on Mikara, who regains 10 hp (still bloodied) and slides to F14 (still prone). Then he uses Shout of Triumph, killing Rotting Hounds 2 and 3 and wounding Fell Taint 4 for 8, and sliding it to H11. He slides Mikara to G17 and Tonk to F15.
