[sblock=Tonk] Why would a spear user have a magic mace? Or axe? [/sblock] When you approach the hobgoblin's body, you discover that, amazingly, he is still alive. Though bleeding heavily, he has raised his head and is staring into something he holds clasped in his hands. "Merrilee," he whispers. "This is good.... b..." His last breath puffs out, bringing with it a spatter of blood, then his head sinks back to the ground. His hand falls open and a golden locket on a chain drops to the ground. Inside the locket is a protrait of a beatiful half-elven girl - half elf and half orc. She has the upturned ears and fine facial features of an elf, with delicate green skin and two small upthrust tusks. On the back is engraved, "With this, you will feel my love with you always. -- M" It seems to tingle with an infusing spirit. Apart from this, you find a pouch of 60 gold on his belt, and a rolled up bundle of cloth in the back. A note attached to the cloth says, "Dingle - I had your Cloak of Distortion mended. Try not to rely on it so much: next time there might be unsightly holes in YOU. -- Mokha" The flag does not seem to be magic. [sblock=streetwise or history 20] These names sound like members of the Ruddy Drakes: Merilee Blackstone, archer famed for her blinding speed; Smarmo Dingledoth, reformed gnome cat burgler; and Mokha Kalla, hobgoblin warleader. The other three are Timmus, Paladin of Apoli; Freida the Fox, human shaman (rumored to have been raised by foxes); and Igneth the Sage of Whitefork. [/sblock] [sblock=OOC] The bundle is, as labelled, a Cloak of Distortion. The locket will allow the wearer to swap any Level 1 Ranger At-Will for Twin Strike. Unfortunately, with Mokha's death, the magic is slowly fading so this will only last for this adventure. [/sblock]
