As the giant creature lumbers away from the rock, Mikara, Tonk and Tristan fade into the woods. Its eyes lock on Blade and Dextyr, who remain. It takes a step towards Blade, who looks set to hold his ground, but suddenly Dextyr jumps in the way, waving and taunting it. It cannot understand his taunts, or the words he speaks to Blade - all it sees is that Blade turns to run while Dextyr remains. It slams its fist down towards Dextyr just as he darts out of the way, and begins its lumbering pursuit. The thunder rumbles overhead and forks of lightning stab down at the trees. As she runs, Mikara suddenly turns the wrong way and breaks out into the open. The sky opens up above her and a fork of lightning stabs down towards her! She dives out of the way and it strikes the earth just where she was standing! A second bolt stabs down from the heavens towards Dextyr and the giant rock creature. At the last second it turns aside from the things head and blasts straight towards Dextyr. Caught by surprise, he feels his heart lurch as the jolt of electricy blasts him through the air, sending him rolling through the mud. He blacks out for a moment, and when he comes to, he sees that the creature has broken off its pursuit. Instead it is forcing its way into the woods, pushing branches out of the way with its club-like hands. His diversion had its effect and gave his companions a head start, but now the creature seems to have gotten their trail. [sblock=Nature 10] Lightning usually strikes the tallest thing around, which would be either trees or the rock monster, so both of these lightning strikes were very strange. They must have been guided somehow. [/sblock] [sblock=Status] Ok, so here's what I have for Round 1: Blade: Athletics 16 Dextyr: Bluff 27 Mikara: Stealth 13 (I assume the Athletics was to jump off the rock, since she followed it with "OK, so she makes it down from the rock") Tonk: Stealth 21 Tristan: Stealth 30 4 successes, 1 failure. Reminder, you need 10 success before 3 failures, and the DC is 14. After the round, two lightning bolts attack, targetting first anyone who failed, then someone at random from those who didn't make successful Stealth checks. Lightning at Mikara (targets Reflex) (1d20+8=11, 1d10+4=7) Mikara is missed. Lightning at (1=Blade, 2=Dextyr) (targets Reflex) (1d2=2, 1d20+8=25, 1d10+4=14) Dextyr is hit for 14 damage. You've gotten as many successes as you can out of Stealth now. You can still use it to hide from the lightning, but then you won't contribute a success to the skill challenge. Also, Blade and Dextyr can't use the same actions again, although other people could still get successes with Athletics or Bluff. EDIT: yes, you can use Second Wind instead of an action, but it counts as a failure since you're not making any attempt to get away. You can also use one Inspiring Word or other minor action per round as well as your action. [/sblock]
