Can Kalashtar breed with Humans?

Pg 67 of the Races of Eberron says that Kalashtar and humans are sexually compatible. Now this doesn’t necessarily mean they can breed, but by the same token it doesn't mean they can't.

IIRC Keith Baker covered that in the AKB thread. The AKB FAQ is <HERE>. I'm too lazy to slog through the whole thing right now, but I belive he said that the union of a human and a Kalastar could yeild a normal Human, or a Kalashtar, but not a "1/2 Kalashtar". Hope that helps.

Yes, they can breed with humans, and with half-elves too. See pg. 59 of Races of Eberron. In short, the child of the union is kalashtar if it shares the gender of the kalashtar parent and human/half-elf (as appropriate) if not. There are no "half-kalashtar".

As a slightly more involved explanation: The Quori spirit the Kalashtar is tied to has a "sex." Any children of that sex from one of the above unions will be Kalshtar. Any children not of that sex will have the other parents race.

On the same note, when two kalashtar have children, the sons share the Quori spirit of the father, and the daughters that of the mother.

And, according to Races of Eberron, the children of different sexes are brought up separately. Essentially, the "family unit" of the kalashtar is based on the quori spirit, not on the male/female coupling. A male kalashtar would feel closer to a male second-cousin of the same quori line than his biological sister.
