Can We Please Stop With The Incessant Changes?

Anyone who comes here with any level of frequency recognizes it. You log in, and go to find something only to find out it has moved. You look to make a change and the option is nowhere to be found. I'm getting a little tired of logging in to see a different interface every time. It's annoying and uncalled for.

Now don't get me wrong. Change is good sometimes. Some of the changes I have liked. Some of them I feel are unnecessary. Some I just flat-out hate. But having the look of EN World get jostled around every other day is getting old. Updates should be done on a test server first and then released as a package rather than updating a little bit at a time. After an update, gather feedback on the changes and then, a few months later, release another update taking this community feedback into account. But don't change the interface every week. If you need to toy around with stuff, do it on a test server.

Don't take this as a criticism of change in general. It's not the change that I am ranting about. It is the frequency of the changes. They are happening way too often. It makes the whole website feel like a beta project.

We're in a transition period; sorry. I've decided to make changes gradually over a period of time rather than all in one go. Sorry if it bothers you, but there will still be more changes over the next month or two.

Incidentally, many of the interface changes have been in response to popular requests made right here in Meta - such as the removal of the left column, the reduction in the number of buttons and menu items, and the like.
