My preference: II. Come on, nothing can beat Khan. III. I liked it. IV. Not bad, but a little too silly and the save-the-whales theme is a little too preachy. VI. I never really liked VI. A lot of people like it, and while it wasn't a bad Trek film, it's not really the sort of thing I prefer. TMP. Boooring. Maybe the DVD version is better, I don't know. V: Does this need an explaination?
People routinely bash this as the Worst Trek Ever, however, as you'll see below, I rank it above most of the TNG movies. It was cheesy and stupid as all hell: Sulu and Chekov getting lost, Kirk distracting the aliens by having a 50-year old Uhura dance naked (they must have been out in the desert for a VERY long time!), fighting "God".
However, this movie can be watched for a laugh, unlike the TNG movies, which aren't just bad but boring as well. Overall: II. First Contact: A lot of people hate the Borg, and they blame this movie for ruining them, but it was still a pretty good movie. The ending
where the Vulcans land on Earth and make first contact with humans was one of the best Trek moments ever. They could have done that cheesy and stupid, look at what they did with the other TNG movies, but this was handled well.
All in all, one of the best Trek movies. III. IV. VI. TMP. V. Nemesis. This movie really disappointed me. I'm a Romulan fan,
but where the hell were the Romulans?! The whole story focused on the Reman-Shinzon plot. Still, I did enjoy seeing that establishing shot of Romulus at the beginning, and the Romulan Senate chambers. Still, it had a lot of flaws. As for Data dying, I'm not really bothered by that. I believe Spiner was one of the writers, so if he chose to have Data go out in an act of heroic sacrifice, then I'm fine with that.
Overall, this could have been a lot better, but it really didn't capture my interest. Insurrection. Even TMP wasn't this boring.
The Federation tries to steal the secret of the Planet of Eternal Youth or some crap. I dunno.
This was the most boring and pointless of all Trek movies. Generations. Clearly, the worst Trek of all time, the Trek the Should Not Have Been Made.
Let's kill off Kirk! And let's not make it heroic, let's have him fall over or something and die!
I'd rather watch Insurrection that this, the most horrible of all Trek movies.
