Thanks to the generosity of the Realm of Rel, we will be indeed having the Canadiana Suite on one, possibly two nights. Huzzah! Hoodyhoo! Here is the tentative schedule for Canadiana Suite 2006 (subject to change): Wednesday evening: -8pm-midnight -open to anyone -BYOB, please donate $ towards expenses -Poutine, Canuck beer, maple cookies and other miscellaneous treats. Thursday evening: -8pm-midnight -open to anyone -BYOB, please donate $ towards expenses -Poutine, Canuck beer, maple cookies and other miscellaneous treats. See you there! Canadiana Suite FAQ: What is the Canadiana Suite? Besides a lovely jazz album by brilliant Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson, it is the room belonging to Dextra, Hellhound and the Gelflings at the Embassy Suites. There we invite all EN Worlders and ENnie nominees to drop by and sample Canuck foods, drinks, and games in a friendly, casual atmosphere. How will I find it? Unfortunately, we never know our room number until we check in, so we can't publicize it in advance. Drop by the ENnies booth to get the number, or simply go to the Embassy Suites and look up. We drape a Canadian flag over the balcony when the Suite, aka Lil Canadia is open to visitors. Are those times firm? Nope. Seeing as how the Suites offer free booze to guests from 5-7pm, it might be a good idea to sit yourself down in the foyer, score some drinks, and just watch for the flag to be raised. I'm under the legal drinking age in Indiana. Can I have a beer? No. Try some poutine. Can I bring my kids? Please do! The Gelflings will be around, and they are ages 11 and almost-15. As a matter of fact, we're pimping out the eldest Gelfling's babysitting services over the course of the weekend. Please be advised, though, that I can't be held accountable for the language or behaviour of other Suite attendees, and some topics of conversation may be inappropriate for younger ears. We're in Lil Canadia, home of gay marriage, free healthcare, draft dodgers, and gun control! Welcome! Do I have to speak French? Bien non! So what's a poutine, then? Is that something sexual? No, you're thinking poontang. Poutine is a French Canadian heart attack on a plate consisting of french fries smothered in cheese curds and gravy.
