Message: <blockquote data-quote="dbm" data-source="post: 4847684" data-attributes="member: 8014">We have a similar problem in our group, not really due to ADD, more due to 'so many choices, so little time'.  We only get to meet up once every three weeks and only play one campaign at a time.  This means that there are far more 'interesting character ideas' than there are campaigns to play them in...In most of our games we have a laise faire attitude to this.  Just recently we have started a campaign (about 4 sessions in now) where the DM specifically said that he had a strong campaign arc and wanted us to keep playing the same characters throughout.  This has thrown up a couple of minor challenges.One of the players in the group doesn't seem to get this 'game contract' and keeps talking about switching from an Invoker to a Warder (though he remains adamant that he is still enjoying playing the Invoker).  We have to remind him of the game contract on a fairly regular basis.Another problem (caused by me) is that I built a character I thought I would enjoy playing (a Bard) and I'm simply not.  I love Bards on paper, and would normally enjoy all the stuff they can do.  The problem is that at the moment real life is very busy and I don't have the mental energy to play the 'face' of the party as well as needed.  And this is compounded by the fact that no one else built a strong 'talky' character as mine blew their skill totals out of the water.  The proposed compromise is that I effectively swap characters with another player at the table who had taken on the talking role, but didn't have the stats for it.It will be interesting to see how it pans out...Cheers.Dan</blockquote>
