Carnegie Deli and Sweeney Todd

Let's just say I'm glad we ate FIRST. Man that was gory (the movie, not the hot pastrami).

I really liked Sweeney Todd. Johnny Depp was great in the role, Helena Bonham Carter held her own, but Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat/Ali G) stole the show as Pirelli. The kid playing Toby was really good too and didn't have any of the usual suck that child actors seem to have lately. Notably missing was some of Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett's clever, witty "gallows humor" between the songs, for those familiar with the Broadway musical.
