I loved Clone Wars. It has really got my juices flowing for Episode III. I felt the same way playing Knights of the Old Republic. They both make me want to pop in the DVDs/tapes of the movies themselves. Actually, it's the same feeling I got after watching both the re-releases of the originals and after each of the prequels. Is Clone Wars better than any of the films? Nope, not to me. They stand on equal ground. I was fully entertained by each of the films and all the shorts. The things that the shorts have going for them are: tons of action (and not much else), very little dialogue which is something all the films are weak in and a cliffhanger every 3 minutes. Overall, there is really no overall plot to the whole thing (even thought it felt like there was one) which is fine by me. The medium used was utilized to near perfection. I liked the snapshot feel to it. There was alot going on within the war theme and we got so many looks at it that there was no need for anything else. The one thing that Lucas has always been good at is directing an action sequence and many of the shots used his style - his strongest aspect as a director. With all the action going on there was no way to dwell on the Lucasian directing weaknesses, such as dialogue and pacing. Could this crew make an entire film as entertaining as the ones already made? Animated? I would like to see it.
