But it's not a consistent fiction.</p><p></p><p>High-level D&D basically means high-level magic. But it's magic all players can really interact with. The fantasy of high-level D&D is magic being flung everywhere. If your character isn't inherently magical, they'll have some magic items in their toolbelt as well.</p><p></p><p>But why is this the flavor? Because the designers decided that's what they want.
