Casting Disjunction while IN an antimagic field?

How would this work? The wording of anti-magic field seems to be that it supress's effects within it... but disjunction is an instantaneous effect that has a chance to disjoin the antimagic field...

So the real question is, does it supress the casting itself, or just the spell/effect? If so, could this be a valid way to escape an antimagic field prison (as a level 20 sorceror with disjunction) ?

Thanks in advance,

It's not a Silence spell, so you can cast spells while within it, by the RAW.

However, since it's suppressing magical effects within it, casting any spell within it is pretty futile, since even with a Disjunction, the effect will be suppressed.

I'd personally rule that a spell's effect needs to come from outside of the field in order to affect the Antimagic Field. So, you wouldn't be able to cast Disjunction successfully inside of it. The other implication of this wording is that you can't cast Prismatic Wall/Sphere or Wall of Force while within one; even though those spells specifically protect you from Antimagic Field.

However, the RAW could go either way, IMO.

I have always allowed casting any spell that states it is unaffected by an AMF, or that can bring down an AMF. Antimagic field is a rape waiting to happen when fighting a spellcaster. Allowing a few outs (MDJ, Wall of Force, Forcecage) is fine by me.

An Antimagic Field cuts off Line of Effect for any spell with a range further than touch. Therefore, Mordenkainen's Disjunction won't work, as you have to have Line of Effect to where you want it to go.
