Sure, he wants the woman who looks like Tatyana, but what is a bigger goal?Since Strahd doesn't leave Barovia, I don't see him as having much to do. If you kill off all the citizens of Barovia, you have nothing, so he wouldn't be bent on doing that (and could have done it already).
