FYI for those of you without the PHB the conversion rate of coin is this: 10 gold =1 platinum piece 10 silver=1 gold piece 10 copper=1 silver piece Troy and Sado, I eagerly await your PCs :) The fighter militiaman sounds good (and Im glad your still with us Sado. mps42 I am of the school of thought you should play what looks interesting to you. C&C wizards are a little different in that they dont have illusion spells dont specialize in a school of magic, and dont have familiars. Like old DnD they are pretty weak at lower levels. Apart from a few mechanical differences with the spells (damages and some casting times) the spells are similar. A 2nd level wizard for instance can cast 4 zero level and 3 1st level spells. Bonus first levels spells depend onthe INT score. In short you should probably be ok, though some explanation of spells might be needed. I just dont want you to experience too much frustration, feeling youre in the dark regarding abilities or spells once we get started. howandwhy99Love Fatcoins name btw... Weapons like swords are assumed to have shealths, though they dont have to. Either way the weight is negligable for ENC purposes. A quiver has a ENC of 2 but worn it is just 1. A sling, like all weapons isnt considered as a worn item and has an ENC of 1. Just clothing, jewelry, armor, headgear and containers can can be worn. The module is set in easternish Verbobonc, though not in the "canon" Greyhawk.(The original setting is in Troll Lords setting of Erde). I am assuming most of you are strangers to the area. Also, I dont see a disguise kit, but Id say such an item( makeup false teeth etc) would cost 15 gp ( half of what rogues tools cost) and have an ENC of 1. Kuld I understand some of your concern about ENC. Some of this does harken back to old school mentality I guess. But it also incorporates the idea that ENC isnt just about weight, but the fact that the body has finite space were stuff can be put, hence the static base ENC of 8 for everyone. Though weights are listed for equipment, I think that it is relative to each humanoid race. Besides Nogrim is only lightly encumbered. And encumbered isnt so much that hes weighted down by a staggering 57 pounds but rather that hes got (by d20 terms) a mediumish armor on. So instead of armor check penalties you have "encumberance" which is more a catch all term not just for weight but for agility hampering things. And his score and most of the others is based on having your backpack on and lugging everything around. In some situations you may leave equipment behind or dump your pack, which you would probably do in real life if you got in a fight. And I assume Nogrim wears his holy symbol.. so you can reduce its enc by 1 to make it 0, which would put him right at 10 :)
