Castles & Crusades - need brainstorm help on spellcasting house rule

I am seriously thinking of letting a wizard cast spells in melee with no con check, initiative requirement, etc. The certainly don't WANT to be in melee.

What unforseen circumstances might this cause? And how badly do you think it would mess up the "feel" of things if this were house ruled in your campaign?

I dont think it would mess anything up at all. I did this in my 3.5 campaign with no ill effects. If you wish to interrupt a spellcaster you must get within melee and hold your action. Then if you hit him he is interrupted. If he has initiative on you, you're stewed.

I second this.
