Some specifics (will be edited / updated as time goes by): -- Rate of play: minimum expected is once per week. Depending on circumstances (players seem willing to post a lot, and I have time at my disposal) it may be several times per week. -- Characters begin at 3rd level. 3rd level is the commoner's average level, for a person in his/her thirties with normal experience and ambition. Then, only the more ambitious and gifted will rise above that. Of course, most commoners are tradesmen or men-at-arms (very simple classes of my own) rather than wizards and the like. So PCs are in their late twenties early thirties, with only casual everyday life experience and academic studies. -- Clerics are priests of the One True God, not a combo of fighting abilities plus spellcasting. To play a combo you should rather opt for a multiclass wizard (don't need to care for religion) / warrior type. By the way, multiclassing is handled as in d20/3e not AD&D 2e. -- Long time ago, the now defunct Nakmirhites (race of necromancers mentioned above) created two slaves races from warping humans. The dumb and aggressive orcs, and the passive and sturdy "half-humans". Now, while some half-orcs are born from an unfortunate encounter between an orc and human, many are actually born from two normal humans. One parent probably had an orc among his ancestors, whose genetics randomly resurfaced in that individual. Or maybe it's a curse for past misdeed of an ancestor or a punishment for a sinful parent? -- No monks you know of. And in any case no shaolin martial artists.
