Two of the kuo-toas look up and warily watch as the party--Blite, Zarra, and K'yorl in particular--approach. One of the two kuo-toas bent over the broken cart handle stands up from his work. One cart is settled off to the side near the tunnel wall by a large boulder. The broken cart is in the middle of the main portion of the tunnel's clear section. Both carts are covered with a membranous green skin that glistens with moisture in the flickering light of the campfire. At the unheard command of one of the two kuo-toa bent over the broken cart, the cook hustles over to the carts and quickly begins rubbing himself over the membranous skin. The creature's efforts seem to coat the skin in a protective layer of oily slime that shines with luster anew in the firelight. The kuo-toa that had been bent over the broken cart handle and had stood up now steps forward. A black metallic holy symbol hangs on a handsome silver chain from the orange-skinned kuo-toa's neck. In fluent Undercommon, the kuo-toa addresses Zarra and K'yorl. [sblock] "Welcome, Oh Most Honored Drowesses!" [/sblock] The kuo-toa bows then continues. [sblock] "I am Jopaarg the Drowned. We welcome you to our heat and bid you to the Sea Mother's embrace." [/sblock] The kuo-toa wrings his hands anxiously and looks from K'yorl to Zarra then to Blite. The cook finishes secreting oil on the membranous tarps covering the carts then returns to his fire. His large black bulbous eyes look up from time to time between shredding strips of pale dried flesh into an iron pot. The dried flesh smells strongly of salt, oil, and seaweed. The third kuo-toa remains bent over the broken cart. A pincer staff lies near the kuo-toa's feet.
