You use these spells directly on creatures or objects, as defined by the spell itself. [ . . . ] If you cast a targeted spell on the wrong sort of target, such as using a <em>daze </em>spell on a humanoid with 5 Hit Dice, the spell has no effect." A humanoid is probably not a creature per se, but I also found <a href="http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/resources/systems/pennpaper/modern/smack/fxspells.html" target="_blank">THIS</a> that tells me the rules use "creatures" and "characters" interchangeably in the F/X section. <strong>TLDR</strong> -- Cyril can use <em>daze</em> on the thrall until we find a definitive rule otherwise.</p><p></p><p>Action Points replenish at each character level, yes. Normally, a character can see the die roll before deciding whether to spend an AP. Cyril didn't need to spend an AP here.
