Thank you, Nock. I have a whole storehouse of happy memories of time spent with my grandmother, so I'm happy to have that, and happy to have prayer as well. To be honest about things, I'm not sure if I would enjoy seeing my Grandmother in her current state. She has a living will that limits what the staff can do for her to only supplying pain medication via an oral dropper, one drop at a time. My mum was in Virginia this week to see Grandma and to help out Grandfather. While I might have liked to have been able to be part of the family gathering this past week, I'm not sure what good I would have been what with having my four small kids in tow. I pray several times a day for Grandma to have an easy passing, one as suffering and pain-free as is possible. I put my grandparents and mother on my church's prayer chain. I will go for the memorial service and will probably stay at least a week after that to help out my Grandfather. Not sure when that will be, but from the look of things, it seems to be not too distant in the future. I'm hoping that my Grandfather rebounds well during the aftermath. He was quite active in the community before becoming Grandma's primary caretaker this past year; I'm hopeful he will return to his former beloved activities after she dies. He's involved with Habitat for Humanity.
