With Rogue to guide him, Elyan traces the objects in Talgen's room with fingertips. Having searched Talgen's room thoroughly and finding nothing of interest save perhaps the lack of personal effects that one would normally find in an occupied room, Elyan walks out of Talgen's room back into the upper hall of the house. Karl puts the letters to Sharwyn from Sir Braford back in the thick volume of childrens' nursery rhymes, but not before scanning the papers again a second time to make sure he hasn't missed anything. Having committed the bulk of the letters' contents to memory, Karl replaces the tome back on the bookshelf and joins Elyan and Rogue in the hall. The pair is soon met by Kiaphas who nods his assent to leave. With Gretchen guiding them, Elyan, Karl, and Kiaphas leave the house via the kicthen door. Gretchen, a worried look etched in the deep lines of her middle-aged face, presses a linen flour sack into Kiaphas's hands. "It's full of the morning's rolls, and a jar of this summer's saskatoon berry jam. Please, take it for your walk this morning...and, please, find our missing kinsmen. Mistress Hucrele may not be overly concerned, but them two're close to me heart and are sorely missed." The woman's face and eyes betray a deep-seeded concern and tired worry. With a careful look cast over her should back inside the kitchen, Gretchen closes the kitchen door but whispers an old folk blessing as she does. "By wing and hoof, I bid you speed and luck." Grotz, Kiaphas, Korgrave, Karl, and Elyan find themselves outside in the bright morning sun. This early in the day, neither the manor house nor the old oak tree offer any shade across the home's back area. Just as it seemed this morning, the day is cloudless and already grows hot, the air thick with sun motes and feeding gnats.
