A javelin comes whirling past Kiaphas's ear from behind where Karl and Kiaphas stand near the northwestern door. Having missed the priest by a millimeter, the javelin skitters to a halt, the stone of its deadly tip grinding to a stop on the stone floor. Turning to see what has assailed them, the companions see a red-skinned goblin in a leather jerkin grinning wickedly from an open doorway that leads to a short hall beyond where the goblin stands. Both Karl and Kiaphas note that four more sets of yellow eyes blink in the darkness down the hall. Meepo's eyes go wide, as do Drindix's. Drindix scoots back into the room in the corner and slams the door closed. Meepo tries to bolt for the open hallway away from the goblins, but Grotz's leash prevents the kobold from getting farther than about five feet. The kobold is yanked backward by his short tether. Kiaphas makes out what the goblins are saying in their native tongue. [sblock]Gnarl, fetch fire. We'll burn 'em out of their hole, filthy rats!" There is a brief lull in the goblin's words, then a rash of very excited, "Human wretches! Manflesh! Fetch the warders!" [/sblock] The goblin starts to reach for another javelin from a quiver on its back.
