Elyan searches with his fingers, dressing down each oily skinned goblin corpse, and finds one creature with a pouch containing what feels like 27 silver unminted marks, and 1 gp. A second pouch on a second creature contains more of the unminted silver marks, 20 of them along with 4 gold crowns. The third goblin in Elyan's area has a pouch that contains 12 unminted silver marks and a lone gold crown. While all the silver is unminted, the gold is heftier and, rubbing his fingers over each side, Elyan detects the insignia of the Free City on the crown. In addition to the coins and pouches, Elyan finds three saps and his foot rasps against the metal blades of three short swords scattered on the floor about the goblin bodies. The creatures also seem to sport some sort of unpleasant-smelling leather jerkin as armor; judging by the feel of the leather overtunic, however, the leather is thin and the quality of workmanship is poor. Karl inspects the room where the fourth goblin died, the stench of the room and its contents mingling unpleasantly in his nose with the acrid smoke from the pillared hall beyond the doorway. In addition to scattered bones, bits of dried up flesh and rancid fat dripplings, Karl finds 6 intact javelins, 2 rusty scimitars that look like they might be serviceable if one could find a smith to grind away the rust, two suits of poor-quality but serviceable leather armor, and one suit of spiked leather armor in good repair. A barrel in the corner contains either piss or water, or perhaps a mixture of both.
