Celestial Economics, how to implement?

My friends and I are about to start a campaign with a Heaven vs Hell theme. The group will be on the side of good an performing various missions against evil and this new type of campaign for us is raising some questions. Mainly how will the economics work?

We will be based out of celestia, i find it hard to beleive money is a big deal there, yet the D&D system uses it extensively when it comes to magic item creation/purchasing and spell costs and things like that. Has anyone else out there run into this problem/situation and what was your solution?

Well you could just use money to keep track of equipment, if you want to have it to be roughly in line with the standard system, but don't actually use coins or anything similar, just hand out stuff by request or whatever fits the theme. And if the "money" doesn't suffice, they just don't get it... shouldn't be hard to find a reason why. :)
