It is a sort of plot device, because in a future adventure they will manage to free the eladrin and will face the evil guy that did that to to him.In the meanwhile, since the bard is a very good guy, he managed to awake the soul, so I think the eladrin should help him in some way.In game terms, if the bard wants to use it for a good deed, the fiddle would grant him two additional features of bardic music.
