Celestial Template

Ok, according to the "celestial" creature template, animals become "magical beasts" with the template. It says to use the "base monster" and just add the abilities that the celestial creature gets, but then I got to thinking.
Since these creatures were born AND raised as "magical beasts" they'd probobly be tougher than a normal animal and have what the magical beasts normally get, like full fighter attack bonus, good saves, etc. Anyone else agree?

That defeats the purpose of putting a template on a creature. Just make a new monster.
 


Here's a thought. If you want to create tougher creatures that are still basically the same as the original without having to go trough all the hassle of creating a new template/creature, then use Manual of the Planes.
