Message: <blockquote data-quote="Dannyalcatraz" data-source="post: 2702513" data-attributes="member: 19675">If I may suggest you take a look at WOTC's Kingdoms of Kalamar Shaman class?  It combines elements of the ranger and the druid in a package that is remeniscent of native american tropes.Another good place to look would be Monte Cook's Greenbond class from Arcana Unearthed.  The only thing you'd have to do is make it use D&D standard spellcasting- its special abilities are not out of line with other standard/core WOTC classes, nor are they too tied to the Arcana Unearthed setting.If you're looking just to tweek the wildshape stuff, perhaps being able to turn into a sentient plant shape would be sufficient.  There are more and more sentient plants being published in the MM series.  Just off the top of my head, not only is there the Shambling Mound and the Treant, but the MM3 has the Topiary Guardian, the Wood Woad and the Woodling (which can be used as a template).  Of course, since the plant subtype gives a lot of benefits, you might have to shift the wildshape ability up a level or 2.</blockquote>
