Yes, I completely understand where you are coming from. I too have had moments during my design just like this. My GF suffers from aphantasia, meaning she does not see mental pictures like I do. I see movies and 3d renders in my head. She works in concepts. That realization alone plays a large part in how I run games. Oddly enough even the use of a gaming board is still difficult for some with this condition. She is good with concepts and often comes up with great ideas out of left field. She also has added more practical aspects, like where in the book do I find XXX? After years with the book I knew where everything was, she was new and did not. So Page reference, a no brainer really, was born, and the book continued to evolve. I have been working on this book for 26 years, and the design was meant to make things, intuitive, A mechanic in one place works simularily throughout the book with different mechanics. That said, yes it needs to be tested outside of my group. But I want it in the right hands. I want it with the right people. I also plan on being there when I do eventually go to market, by offering my services to buyers, so as to help them experience the game, and learn the ropes. But not before I find a community. When I posted this feed my goal was to encourage interest. The people who jumped up and said, yes me! I will try and stump you! Those people have the spirit I am looking for. The people who came at me with hostility, I do not have time for. Questions are fair, criticism is fair, hostility? I just don't have time. As fair as example sheets and free stuff, I am hesitant for a few reasons. Several people have spoken about taking other peoples mechanics. I spent 26 years doing the opposite. Also if people are gonna show hostility, why would I grant them anything? Lastly I am taking my time, getting a feel for the place, I am not trying to ram anything down anyones throat. Also , about not getting good data. I agree that if it was for different data, then yes. But my point was whether or not I could find a way to meet my own challenge. If someone can stump me, good? It either means I have work to do, or the request is beyond the scope of my game. For example, galaxy sized entities might break my rules a bit lol.
