This is fairly surprising, people jump into threads all the time. Was it problems with you posting in the threads at all, or disagreements with the content you posted? Because we have a wealth of various opinions here, we don't live in an echo chamber, and any strongly stated opinion will likely find someone who disagrees with it. The latter is just part of being in an safe, diverse community -- people don't always agree, and can say so as long as they follow the community rules. I was in your etiquette request, and it was rather non-specific. There wasn't discussion that you were here almost solely to talk about a game you were creating, but one that you were loathe to discuss any mechanics of. Plus in today's day and age there are generally expectations of common forum courtesy that having only ever tried reddit before needed to be laid out succinctly. Considering the number of neurodivergent posters we have, that might be a good topic for a post to put together something. I mention that because while we're frequently argumentative and go back and forth about various subjects, there are items in this thread that can easily be read as personal insults or attacks. I'm truly don't think you intended them that way -- if I did I wouldn't bother typing this much, I'd just put you in my ignore list. Concrete examples: Repeated talking about people stealing your ideas, especially in ways that seem to accuse others that didn't post anything like that. Repeated rejections of requests for expansion of what you were saying with "I'm still evaluating if I want to be here." We do have pride in these forums that Morris, the mod team, and all of the posters (yes, even the ones I butt heads with) have put together. Requests for characters and then short answers which only made sense in context of your system, which in general you wouldn't share. We have a dedicated forum for promotion, and posting under TTRPGs instead of there invites a discussion as a TTRPG, not as a promotion. It felt though that you weren't willing to hold up the part of the discussion needed as the only one with the rules. We've had posters introduce games, but usually they do so to discuss them. It's a two way street. Regardless if you stay, I wish you luck. We don't have forums specifically dedicated to building new games so we might not be your pick. And yes, we do have diverse opinions that we should be saying respectfully but can get argumentative back and forth. But we have a wealth of experience we're willing to expound on if you're willing to meet us half way.
