Changing default posts per page beyond 40

Mad4Pancakes

First Post
I would like to raise my default posts per page to a much higher number than 40. I know there is a way to do this, I just can't remember how to. My reason for this is so I can download entire threads and read them later. This would also help if there was a Story Hour thread which I liked and wished to save.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

AFAIK, 40 posts per page is the maximum.

(see the Default Posts per Thread option in the
Edit options in your user cp)

I know that, but I also know there is a way to change it to something rediculous as well, like 1000, and it involves editing the HTML of the Edit Options page.

I have no idea how to set the default to a larger number of posts instead of 40... but this works for a thread so you can save it as one page.

Original:
http://www.enworld.org/messageboards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7637&perpage=40&pagenumber=2

Changed
http://www.enworld.org/messageboards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7637&perpage=200&pagenumber=1

How:
1) Go to the second page of a thread;
2) Change the url in the address bar of your browser;
2a) Put the number of posts of the whole thread after the perpage bit (where it says 40, if 40 is your default setting) (I've put in 200, as the mods will close threads that have that number of posts;
2b) Change the pagenumber from 2 into 1;
3) Press Go.

I'm sure you can also change the url from the first page of a thread, but this way you have to type as little as possible - also no typing errors.
