Changing one's vote in a poll

Is it just me or did it used to be possible to, if one clicked the wrong box by mistake and then hit submit, change one's vote in a poll?

I ask because the question's come up in this thread...

...and when as an experiment I tried to change my vote I couldn't. Yet I could swear there used to be a "remove vote" button, or similar, on polls.

Is this because it's a "public" poll? Or is it due to the new software? Or am I blind and just not seeing the button? Or ... ?

When you create a poll, there's a checkbox to allow people to change their votes or not. So, on some polls you may be able to change votes, and others not, depending on the OP.
