Terriasm - You could open up the epic feats early for the fighter, who is likely to qualify for them by the shere number of feats he gets (Whirlwind attack, which is one of the hardest to qualify for, can be gotten by 6th level for a fighter (if I did the math right, don't have books in front of me) who still has 2 feats to spare, while a normal player needs to be level 12 or higher, with no feats to spare). Open epic feats up after 10th level (Assuming they qualify for them in all other aspects). Or, open up feats from other books. There are a lot of fun and fairly well balanced feats, especialy the tactical ones, in the complete series. Encourage fighting styles. Allow a fighter to create his own fighting style (with appropriate bonuses). Use the styles in the complete books for guides, there's some fairly cool ones in there. Maybe make some fighter specific magic items. Not ones that any fighter type can use, but one only a "True Warrior" (Fighter of x level or better) can use. Maybe an intelegent sword that will ridicule any non-warrior PC (Could be comical and interesting at the same time). Options are the best thing a fighter has going for him. He can learn to do all sorts of strange things fairly easily because he picks up the feats quickly and in large number. That, with a cool BAB, makes the fighter open to just about any non-magical feat out there. My general opinion though, is that if you want a fighter but something that's not extra feats after 10th level, then you realy don't want a fighter, but a PrC. I don't think a well balanced PrC (and yes, many are not well balanced) is more powerfull than a fighter, just different.
