Changing up the Healer Class - thoughts?

Short hand - running Worlds Largest Dungeon, need to use Healer class as an NPC. Great support class, perfect for an NPC.

However, they have, without a doubt, the WORST spelllist I have ever seen. VERY paltry, protection spells that would help protect PCs as support are not on there, etc.

So, would adding some spells to the spell list unbalance?

Also, I want to swap out the Celestial Unicorn ability, but don't know anything that would work otherwise.

Ideas? They are going Dungeon crawling...

In my experience, the healer class is almost (but not quite) to powerful, because of it's focus on healing and removing status effects.

It's almost impossible to kill (or even seriously hinder) anyone when the healer is around, when they are played properly.

If you add a greater variety of spell options, they would become better than a cleric.
