Is there a 3.5 version of the chant spell from earlier editions? We had the perfect scenario for it recently but I couldn't find it quickly.

Basically no there isn't.
I remember one 1e game which had ranks and ranks of clerics on either side, all using chant because we allowed it to stack in those days. It remained fairly even until one side started losing clerics, and then it went downhill for them rather fast...
