Leading a tough childhood while studying and working for the British army during WW1 to earn money for the university, Harry lost his father at the age of 12. Reaching the age of 18 Harry finally managed to get accepted to LCU where he studied from Harry Burton the secrets of the trade. Harry covered the expedition to uncover the Tomb of Tutankhamun in 1923 in Egypt as Harry Burton's apprentice where he met Jack Paterland and Fouad Mustafa Nassir. After his coverage of the Palestinian riots in Jerusalem in 1929 as a junior journalist for "The Times", he returned to London hoping to lead a less dramatic journalist career while carrying on his studies.
